CiloGear is almost ready to open for business again. Everything is still a mess, stuff is everywhere, but at least the computer is working and things are starting to get a bit organized. A bit. Another day or two of work, and we’ll be up and running.
I’ve got a lot of blog entries to do. But here’s a link to the most outrageous thing I’ve ever seen recorded in this fine industry. The North Face guy in the video says that their old packs suck, that Osprey packs were better, so TNF bought some, copied them and then “improved” the design.

Can you believe that they “improved” the design by making the back panel out of EVA / crocs material? WTF? Thanks to getoutdoors for the link…

Graham,
Watch your back buddy. I don’t know if you remember this, but when I bought my V1 30L pack (I now also have a V2 60L), I predicted/warned you about this.
I watched Gregory, TNF, and a couple of other companies make near exact copies of Randy’s packs over at CCW after he got some good reviews. The big corporations will just take the idea and use it if they can.
Patent the D-Clip compression system fast! Patent other innovations as well. Cover your ass! I’d rather you make a living than some big conglomerate.
