Some Dyneema Pictures…

A few people asked about the Dyneema packs, and the suspensions. The simple answer is that the suspension on the Dyneema packs is the same as our regular packs. But here are some pictures…

30L Dyneema Pack Back Panel

That’s the 30L in Dyneema. This one has the current shoulder straps which (despite my commentary above) are a teensy bit different than the current 30L packs…The hipbelt on the Dyneema pack is exactly the same as the hipbelt on the regular packs.

45L / 60L Dyneema Back

The above is the 45L or 60L Dyneema pack suspension. The 60L and the 45L share a backpanel design. The 40L or 40B have a shorter backpanel. The shoulder straps are Dyneema, however, again, the hipbelt is exactly the same as the regular pack. You can see the back of the lid in this shot. The lid is made with Dyneema on the top panel, and VX07 on the side panels. The rigidity of the VX07 makes it work much better for the lid. We’re going to be making another kind of lid for these packs, but right now, the lid is the same design as that of the regular packs, just different materials.

The major difference in the suspension of the Dyneema packs is that they have a much simpler attachment point — with removable foam — for the hipbelt. It works as well or better, it’s lighter and you can remove the foam for added weight savings.

45L / 60L Dyneema front panel

Here’s the front panel of the 45L / 60L pack with a crampon pocket. The lid is nicely obscuring the grab loop. The logo is inside, not on the outside. This particular pack was made without scotchlite on the ice axe holsters.
